Terms & Conditions
GENERAL
Costa Coffee Malta’s Costa Club Malta App is operated by The Coffee Company Malta Ltd. , its subsidiaries, group companies and the Companies under its management control (hereinafter referred to as ‘Corinthia Group’).
As a member, you will earn points when making purchases at any Costa Coffee Malta outlet, when showing your proof of membership at the time of purchase [Costa Club Malta App]. These are the terms and conditions of the Loyalty program from its launch.
Costa Coffee Malta reserves the right to withdraw or cancel any or all of the memberships; refuse to award points; withdraw points; refuse the right to redeem points collected for any breach of these conditions.
By utilizing your Costa Club Loyalty App in any of the Costa Coffee Malta outlets for the aim of earning points, you will automatically approve of the loyalty program along with its rules, terms and conditions, which are subject to amendments from time to time.
Your Costa Club Malta membership can be revoked or refused if you are in any way involved in acts of fraud, shoplifting, cheating with or without cause and without notice. The membership can also be revoked if you are found to be in any ways involved in any sort of misuses of the Costa Club Malta App. In this given scenario all of your existing points shall be cancelled and cannot be available for redemption.
Costa Coffee Malta reserves the right to adjust or close the Costa Club Malta App, to change, cancel or withdraw any terms and conditions, without assigning any reason whatsoever at it’s own discretion. It also reserves the right to discontinue Costa Club Malta memberships – existing or new – temporarily or permanently for a period of time. Costa Coffee Malta will provide up-to-date and accurate information on the App and website for any change, cancellation, addition, withdrawal or modifications. Therefore, it is your responsibility to carefully read and agree and accept these terms and conditions. Your continuance as part of the membership will signify your acceptance to the latest conditions which will be applicable from time-to-time. If you do not agree or cannot comply with any of the provided terms and conditions, we encourage you to either surrender or withdraw your Costa Club Malta membership.
Any benefits, rewards and offers which will be sent to you through the Costa Club Malta App may change or be withdrawn without any prior notification. Costa Coffee Malta will not be responsible for the liability arising from such situations.
Costa Coffee Malta has the right to modify the procedure in which points are earned and redeemed, including the number of points earned and the value of these points.
You (the customer) for updating your membership account on the website or the App, with any change in your personal information.
Costa Coffee Malta will not be held accountable for any unlawful or misuse of your Costa Club account, and it is your responsibility to ensure that your Costa Club App password is always kept in a safe and secure place.
If benefits, facilities or arrangements are provided or made available to a member as a result of his/her membership, whether these are provided by Costa Coffee Malta, such member will be personally accountable for any and all costs, taxes, surcharges, fees, charges, claims or liabilities of whatever nature arising from the provision or availability of such benefits, facilities or arrangements.
While Costa Coffee Malta will attempt to ensure that the offered services, benefits, facilities or arrangements as expressed or advertised by Costa Coffee Malta will be available to the members, Costa Coffee Malta will not be held accountable for any loss or damage, whether direct or indirect, arising from the provision or non-provision, whole or part, of such services, benefits, facilities, or any kind of arrangements.
When a Costa Club member seeks the use or obtain any of the services, benefits, facilities or arrangements being offered, the provision of such services, benefits, facilities or arrangements will be subject to the respective terms and conditions of the provider of the said benefits, facilities or any kind of arrangements.
Costa Coffee Malta shall not be liable for any loss or damage, whether or indirect, resulting from termination or change of, to the loyalty app or any of the facilities, benefits or arrangements which are made available to all of the members, including, without any type of limitation, withdrawal or limiting of any such services, benefits or facilities.
The mentioned terms and conditions as published on the Costa Coffee Malta website -> https://costacoffee.mt/terms-and-conditions , subject to any amendments shall be final, binding and supersede to the terms and conditions and other information as provided in relation to the Costa Club Malta App.
MEMBERSHIP
2.1 Costa Club Malta App shall always remain property of Costa Coffee Malta and whilst you will be the only custodian of your Costa Club Malta App.
2.2 Age is self-certified and any false given information may lead to a membership termination.
2.3 There is no fee to become a Costa Club Malta member.
2.4 Membership and points are non-transferable and can only be used by you solely, as the only authorized member. If you would like to cancel your membership, you can do so by deleting the app.
2.5 The members will be allocated purely at the management discretion and any final decisions on all matters related to the Costa Club Malta App shall depend only by Costa Coffee Malta.
2.6 If within 6 months a member will not have made a single transaction, the loyalty will classify them as an “inactive user”. One can simply avoid being classified as an inactive user by securing their account with at least one transaction a month.
2.7 A Costa Club Malta member ought to only hold one account in their name at all times. If otherwise, Costa Coffee Malta reserves the right to cancel all of the accounts that are held by the accountable person’s name and the points acquired in all of the accounts won’t be able for redemption.
EARNING
3.1 Points will be only earned once the Costa Club Malta App will be presented to the barista at the time of purchase. No previous points made with the past loyalty card will be diverted into the new account.
3.2 All points which will be earned throughout your purchases will expire if they are not redeemed within 6 months. Points will also automatically expire if the account is deactivated.
3.3 Points value are as follows; €1 = 5 points. We will round down the cents portion of your purchase as follows: If you spend €2.99 or less will rounded down and only 5 points per €1 will be given.
3.4 Once points have been redeemed against a transaction, they cannot be reversed and re-credit to the account.
3.5 No points will be given on the purchase of a gift voucher. But if a person uses a gift voucher during a purchase, points will be added to your transaction.
3.6 For no reasons points can be pooled together with other member of the Costa Club Malta App at any point of time.
3.7 Points can only be earned at a Costa Coffee Malta outlet. The app won’t work at another Costa Coffee store outside of Malta.
3.8 Earned points will be able for redemption immediately, once the transaction has been passed through.
REDEMPTION
4.1 Any Costa Club Malta member can redeem their points when they visit any Costa Coffee Malta outlet. Point redemption can be made upon having 5 points credited in the account. When a member visits any of outlet to make a purchase, the barista will be able to inform you that you’ve reached “X” amount of points and that they are credited in your account and are ready for redemption. (You) the member can also choose between redeeming the points in full or partly. To be able to redeem points, the member needs to have a complete updated profile. If not all points are redeemed, the remaining balance will remain in the account and can be used for any future purchases, unless they are expired.
4.2 The Costa Club Malta App can be used only in Malta. Costa currency can be only redeemed in all of the Costa Coffee Malta outlets only.
4.3 Redemption of points are as follows: 5 points = €0.05. Therefore, if you have a total of 1,000 points in your account, you will have a value of €10.
4.4 The points available for redemption cannot be exchanged for cash.
4.5 Any points redeemed cannot be re-credited or be used again.
4.6 If the total value of the purchase is higher than the accumulated Costa Club currency, the remaining balance must be paid by the member using a valid payment method.
4.7 Points which are not redeemed within 6 months will be automatically deducted from the account, without a prior notice sent by the Costa Club Malta app. If an account is not used within 6 months, the account will automatically de-activated, and so will be the remaining points.
4.8 Costa Coffee Malta reserves the right to modify, cancel or withdraw the terms and conditions at any point in time at The Coffee Company Malta Ltd, which inter alia includes the right to refuse to award points, withdraw points, refuse the right to redeem points collected for the purchases without prior notice.
DATA PROTECTION CLAUSE
5.1 Costa Coffee Malta ought to process all persona data collected in relation with the Costa Club Malta App in accordance with Regulations (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regards to the processing of personal data and on free movement of such data and repealing directive 9/6/EC (General Data Protection Regulation). You can refer to our Privacy Policy for further information on the purpose and manner in which the data is processed, as well as more information with reference to your data rights.
